From an analysis of more than 55,000 adults from Denmark, researchers found that eating between 2 and 6 ounces of chocolate every week was associated with a 20 percent reduced risk of atrial fibrillation (A-fib).

Atrial fibrillation (AF) affects millions of people in the USA and the European Union. AF is associated with a higher risk of stroke, heart failure, cognitive decline, dementia and mortality.

Moderate consumption of cocoa has been shown to promote cardiovascular health due to its high content of flavanols, which offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. It also has vasodilatory properties so it helps to support healthy blood pressure and circulation.
