A research team reviewed studies of 135,965 participants, covering 32 years.

The participants who regularly used aspirin had a lower prevalence of cancers overall (3% lower), GI tract cancers (15% reduced risk) and colorectal cancer (19% lower risk).

Aspirin had no significant impact on other cancers such as breast cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer and multiple myeloma.

If you are on blood thinners or have gastric bleeding issues, seek your physician’s approval before starting a regular aspirin regimen. Otherwise, taking 81 mg of a coated baby aspirin daily may have strong protective health effects beyond the heart.
