Why it’s built this way

Think of lutein as an internal pair of sunglasses. It's the deep-yellow carotenoid the marigold flower uses to protect its delicate petals from harsh sunlight — and the same pigment your macula draws on to filter light and maintain sharp, color-rich vision. The catch is that the body can't make it, and most of us don't eat nearly enough of the dark leafy greens that carry it. So MDR concentrates it straight from marigold extract: a verified 10 mg of lutein, with meso-zeaxanthin and zeaxanthin, in a phospholipid softgel that helps these fat-soluble carotenoids absorb.

Then we added what the original eye-health research kept pointing to. Saffron — the prized Mediterranean stigma extract, dosed at 20 mg — has long been studied for its role in supporting retinal and visual function. Mixed carotenoids with alpha-carotene round out the antioxidant support that helps protect the eyes against blue light and everyday oxidative stress. It's built for adults whose days run on screens and bright light, meant to pair with a normal diet and sit in a daily routine for years — because macular pigment answers to steady intake, not quick fixes.
